If you would like to try a new tact in your promotional efforts for your online product or service, you might do well to consider cross promotions as a way to make money online fast.  Cross promoting is a deal or bond formed by two online marketing parties for the mutual benefit of each.  In that sense, it differs slightly from online promotions that you might elect to do for your business directly.  The online promotion can become more powerful when there is something in it for some other party, so much so that they are willing to give you a valuable service or product for your own use.

The concept is not a new one.  Dealmakers have been developing promotional exchanges for ages, even before the internet spawned a new generation who wish to make money online fast.  Stock brokers have frequently been known to tout, not the stock which is the best value to the customer, but the stock which offers them the greatest return per sale—the broker benefits through improved income, and the company benefits from the additional sales which are derived from the promotions—it is only recently that the more savvy investing public has begun to catch on.  However, in most cases, it is a win-win situation, offering the marketer to stretch his/her business a little farther than they otherwise might.

Two different entrepreneurs might decide to snowball their strengths by jointly publishing a report or e-book jointly.  One, a former copy writer, may be more than willing to write up the copy, while the other makes use of their design and technical expertise to produce it.  One partner may have an autoresponder that they wish to promote, while the other may be marketing e-mail leads.  It is not too difficult to imaging the two partners conceiving of an plan in their e-book which makes use of both the favored autoresponder and the e-mail leads in a unified system.  The has become perfect way to make money online fast for each home based business.

An obvious example of a cross-promotion is a link exchange.  The swapping of high profile URL locations has benefits to both parties.  The first may find that their internet website URL is being promoted on a highly-trafficked site that they never would have thought of otherwise.  The second may be pleased that their URL is in a favored location or desireable online community that offers the chances to target prospects more specifically for their attributes.  Each party, however, has found that they have improved their traffic through the exchange, and both are very happy with the deal.  This is a type of link exchange that many online marketers dream of, and may indeed be able to effect.

Another example might be the e-zine publisher who agrees to lend their mailing list out for one-time use in exchange for some additional promotion on the website of the other party.  The e-zine publisher has therefore made good use of a resource that was not being over exploited, and the other party picks up some significant free advertising exchange for donating a bit of banner space that he was not using on his popular website.  Both are satisfied that they have picked out a way of working to make money online fast.

Such promotional efforts are most successfully accomplished when the two parties are not competing directly, but rather each has a unique product or service that does not offer any competition to the other.  In this manner, the trade is truly a trade of different goods or services—not simply overlap.  It is never a good idea to muddy the waters by supporting a product or service that is in direct competition with you.  In addition to the lost sales which could occur, the customer can become confused and frustrated as they try to tease out the differences from your service and that of your competition—the customer may indeed judge you harshly for not drawing enough distinction from your competitor.  It is noted that Macy’s and Gimbels were direct competitors for many decades, and there was a market for each.  Had Macy’s promoted Gimbels’ products, or vice versa, it would only have confused and bewildered the customer, perhaps frustrating their decision to purchase entirely.

Link pages can become confused and messy affairs if they are filled with the same and similar resources that you are yourself offering in your main promotion.  While you may bleed some traffic from your competitor, the situation could deteriorate even further with many finding a preference for your competitor.  Why give them this edge?  A niche on the market is the best way to make money online fast.  It is a simple matter to involve only fellow link exchangers who offer a product or service which contrasts sharply to your own.  If you are offering data processing or work at home home typing, why muddy your efforts through promotion of a similar program?  Better to seek out vacation outlets or advertising services or something uniquely and distinctly different.

It is necessary to evaluate carefully the other party in the cross promotion that you are considering. It the marketer a reputable one?  Have there been any complaints? This could lead to more trouble further down the line as the marketing deal unfolds.  Is the product or service adult oriented, which may turn off any families to whom your own product might interest?    Are there any financial perils which could rise up in the course of the transation?  How will the aftermath be dealt with if the cross promotion does not go as planned?  What will happen if one home business partner falters in the middle of the deal?

The marketer with the strong product or service that offers a great deal in the way of support has the upper hand to those who are “going it alone”.  In fact, this type of marketer may have far less needs for a cross-promotion might address because of the rich array of integrated services that the well-planned affiliate program might offer.  Still, however, there is always that service which is just out of reach or highly unique which might be well served by a cross promotion.  A worthy cross-promotion that is constructed in savvy detail is a wondrous way to make money online fast.
