Do you have a place on the internet yet?  Do you have a website--a spot where you can work from home on computer?  That is the first step in doing business online, the most common method of setting up shop online.  If you don't, I certainly suggest you take a look at the PIPS program which will give you a free website and the tools and support you need to take this important first step.  Once you have your online presence established with your own site, you should start to explore the world of affiliate programs.

Affiliate programs come in all shapes and sizes.  They are not one program fits all in nature.  It is up to you to consider which affiliate programs will compliment your website and keep your customers satisfied.  You website content should be geared toward fulfilling the needs of the customer, but your customers will want to stretch out on their own to build their own unique web world and try their hand at the various techniques that will suit their own unique personalities.

So why not give the the business package that they need while you benefit from their efforts and their future efforts through residual income?  Programs with residual income are certainly recommended for anyone desiring to work from home on computer.  The reason is that the income is recurring and can grow as your customers find customers of their own.  You usually get a percentage of not only your customer's effort, but that of his customers, and their customers--continuing down a preset number of levels.

It is important to note here that many people are under the false assumption that there is something inherently illegal about such programs.  So it is important to understand that a multilevel pay plan is in no way a "pyramid scheme"--the very term seems to strike fear in the hearts of many.  Great American companies like Amway, Avon, and Tupperware have rewarded their marketers with multilevel pay plans.  Such companies are not only highly honest and ethical, but they have stood the test of time.  The different between having a multilevel pay plan and a "pyramid scheme" is that the latter is solely a money game--there is no product or service, and your profit is entirely dependent upon the scheme's ability to find new participants to buy into it.  This has precious little in common with a legitimate multi-level pay plan, so please rest assured on that point.

How do you go about finding strong legitimate affiliate programs that offer residual income?  Well, as long as you are on my website, you may as well return to the home page and check out my recommended programs.  Pay particular attention to the PIPS program, especially if you are not familiar with it, as it offers multiple streams of residual income all by itself!  There are some wonderful affiliate programs that are available right from this site.  If you choose to do a search for affiliate programs on your own, be sure that you consider only healthy programs that have been around for awhile--affiliate programs tend ot come and go--if they go, you will lose any hope of benefiting from future income generated.  Do a Google search for affiliate marketer opinions on the program.  It is generating good income for the associates?  Is it popular?  Does it fit with your website environment?  Is this something that you will be proud to represent as you work from home on computer?

You will want to make sure that there is a low start-up cost, especially if you are new to online marketing.  Why spend money that you don't have on a program that you have not yet tested?  Save your money for your marketing efforts and advertising.  There are loads of good affiliate marketing programs that are free to join, or at least very low cost.  (The PIPS program, for example, requires only that you make a small monthly purchas for a hosting account--this is the web space where you free website will be located.  From there, you may choose to join some other affiliate programs if you wish--most are free.  Some have a low cost, but the decision to join any additional ones rests with you in consideration of the way in which you choose to develop your business.

You will want to find products that can be shipped for you, so you don't have this chore yourself.  Some online products are digital in nature and can be downloaded directly from you website.  Others can be shipped directly from the affiliate company, once you have provided the customer.  Affiliate programs need you to build their business, they need you to locate buyers.  If they could do this task completely on their own, they wouldn't need you (and you would not have the potential to profit that you have with a good affiliate program).

 Consider for a moment the beauty of a residual income from an affiliate program.  When you work a 9-5 job, you will need to be there every minute in order to profit.  But with an affiliate program, you can generate income once, then have your affiliates generate income of their own by bringing in other affiliates.  (They may also choose to sell the company's main products, which can bring in additional dollars.  As this process continues down several levels, you will find that you can be doing something else, vacationing or pursuing other matters, while your income generated online continues to grow.  What could be better for work at home moms and dads who want to spend more time with their children?  Of course, everyone wants more time to do the things they dream of doing.  This is the magic of residual income, and it is a very real and acceptable business plan that is generating a lot of money for many.  This is why you should focus your efforts primarily on affiliate companies that offer a strong residual income plan.

If you run your online business in the manner just described, you internet tools can be working for you 24 hours a day--even while you sleep!  This is a tremendous asset!  Think about the power of that!  You could not even find employees who could do this!  But your website is open and available worldwide to everyone.  There is amazing power in that--power that you can harness to generate sales upon sales upon sales (many levels deep) and enjoy the resulting profits!
